The fourth component of IRT is Redox Regulatory Therapy, which selectively targets tumor sites with intense levels of oxidative stress. This means that the therapy is designed to attack tumor cells only and present no harm to healthy tissue. The combination of high-dose intravenous vitamin C therapy, coupled with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and the oxygen-carrier Trental (Pentoxifylline), achieves this desirable effect. The result is a therapy that can often effectively hold tumor growth at bay while augmenting the killing effect of concurrent cytotoxic therapy.
